Our Curriculum

Underdale High School offers a supportive and challenging educational experience that enables students to reach their full potential and become life-long learners. We offer a broad range of academic and vocational subjects and experiences to satisfy the needs of all students and their preferred pathways.

A general program of study is undertaken in years 8 to 10, where students experience a wide variety of subjects in the Australian Curriculum. In the senior school we offer a curriculum catering for a range of preferred futures and more options for specialised learning. We maintain a strong academic focus with most of our students completing the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and many gain outstanding results. Our international students have consistently achieved both personal and academic goals, and the majority of our long-term students have gone on to university either in Australia or in their home country.

Underdale High School provides English as an Additional Dialect (EALD) core classes in Years 8 – 12. The school has an integrated English program where international students can study English within the context of the school curriculum. English as an Additional Dialect support is available across the curriculum. Most teaching staff have participated in the extensive ‘Teaching EALD in the Mainstream classroom’ program to support our learners from non-English speaking backgrounds.
